Dursley U8s vs. Chippenham U8s

20 under 8s made the journey to Chippenham’s modern ground just off the A420. Playing in two squads all players made significant contribution to a very enjoyable mornings rugby. The two teams played six games between them winning 4, with Chippenham winning the remaining 2.
The first match was a great advert for the minis game. Some excellent, strong running by Chippenham was countered by a well-organised defence by Dursley and some good support play allowing a 7-try turnover on 3 occasions. The scores were level at half time with Dursley introducing their substitutes and immediately getting on top early in the second half. With less than a minute to go, Dursley won the game with a fine individual try from Player of the Day Christopher Colston.
As many as 11 of Dursley’s players, across both squads, scored at least 1 try each during the morning. This illustrates the willingness of all involved to run with the ball and the development of our support play.
Defence still needs work but everyone enjoyed their morning and is looking forward to training back at Stinchcombe on Sunday.
