Shaving Her Head for DRFC
29th March 2015
My name is Rachael Stewart and I would like to promote a fundraising event I am doing for Dursley Rugby Football Club.
My husband is one of the coaches (Under 8's) and both my son (8yrs) and daughter (4years) plays for them.
Earlier in the season they asked for us to try and raise funds to help with their project for the renovation to the changing rooms at the grounds. and I felt so strongly about supporting what is a fantastically amazing club that I committed to doing this absolutely insane thing!
The ethos of the RFU to promote discipline, teamwork, enjoyment, responsibility is close to the hearts of all in the club and they have so many volunteers who give up their precious time to instil this into our children and all deserve the best facilities to achieve this for our children and our community. From this community they have produced some amazing International players and this leads to a great sense of pride and achievement in all who are members.
On the 29th March at the clubhouse during the County Cup, I am shaving my head to raise much needed funds. I have been awarded by the Gloucester RFU for my community support and fundraising in this venture.
I am trying to make it worth every penny so instead of just shaving my head for whatever is raised I have tiered the amount raised against the length of the cut!
As you will see from the attached poster my hair is long! almost waist length so this is not just a whim!
All the hair that is cut off will be donated to "The Princess Trust" for children with cancer to be made into a wig/s. So I am doing this for two causes.
Please donate via Rachel's just-giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/Rachael-Stewart6
