Dursley qualify for County Cup Quarter Finals
With one match still to play in their Pool, Dursley have qualified for the County Cup Quarter Finals after a hard fought match with local rivals Stroud.
Although Dursley had plenty of possession and attacked at every opportunity it was deep into the first half before Sheldon found a way through to give Dursley a 5-0 half time lead. After the break the game opened up more and Dursley found a rhythm in their play. Winning turnover ball in the forwards Bennett playing at fly half fed the ball along the backs for Taylor to evade 3 tackles and stay up long enough in the tackle to score. A few minutes later an almost identical move gave Taylor a second try. With Dursley now dominant Williams danced his way through to score under the posts to give Dursley a
20-0 lead. To their credit Stroud did not give up, but instead staged a recovery and with 5 minutes left pulled a try back. Dursley had to defend again and Sheldon made a try saving tackle in the corner, but Stroud came again and bundled the ball over to make the score 20-14. Dursley saw out the final minute by keeping the game in the middle of the pitch.
