Dursley U14's Fail to beat Hucclecote in County Cup R1

Opposition:  Hucclecote RFC – County Cup Round 1

Venue:          Dursley

In potentially one of the toughest qualifying groups in the Junior County Cup, Dursley entertained Hucclecote at home.

 Within the first minute some poor tackling by the Dursley backs gifted the visitors the easy attacking angle. A brave cover tackle by fullback Jack Pascoe couldn’t prevent the simple overlap, so Hucclecote took the lead. They stretched further ahead ten minutes later, but not without a tough battle to get there, as the home side stirred into action.

Two tries to centre Mike Beswick either side of the half returned balance to the scoreline and Dursley seemed on the ascendancy, camping in the visitors 22 for long periods of the match, courtesy of their forwards in attack and the backs in defence. 

However, Dursley failed to capitalise on several opportunities to score, providing the opening Hucclecote needed for return attacks yielding a trio of late tries. A final score of 10-25 to a very strong Hucclecote side failed to reflect yet another sound performance by the Dursley squad.
