Welcome to the Dursley Rugby Club Senior Section.

Dursley Rugby senior section currently runs 3 regular senior sides, and occasional Veterans (over 35s).

Dursley 1st XV play in Gloucestershire league Division 1, having won Division 2 in 2006/07 and consolidated themselves in the higher league for the last 2 seasons.

Dursley United (2nd XV) play in Gloucestershire Citizen Merit Table Division 2, having finished as runners up in Division 3 in 2008/09, thereby gaining promotion.

Dursley Nomads (3rd XV) play in the Citizen Merit Table Division 4.

All 3 teams also play in the Stroud Combination Cup competitions, with the 1st team having been losing finalists to Stroud in the 2008/09 Senior Cup, and the Nomads winning the 3rd XV Bill Adams Trophy competition in 2008/09.

Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, starting at 7pm. Players of all standards, ages and experience are always very welcome to join the section, and at any time during the season.

The seniors pride themselves on taking their rugby seriously on the pitch and maintaining a strong social side off it. The annual senior tour is always good fun!

We have also benefitted in recent seasons from the success of the mini and junior rugby section of the club, with a constant supply of players making a successful transition from junior rugby at age 17+ into senior rugby. This transition is something that we work hard at, and the evidence of this is demonstrated in the fact that the 1st XV and United sides in particular are now regularly full of players who have 'come up through the ranks'. This can only bode well for the future of the club as a whole.
