Welcome from the President
In recent times the Club has developed beyond all recognition both on and off the field. The facilities have been expanded to meet the playing needs and plans are being developed for refurbishing the clubhouse and changing rooms. In addition to the rugby membership the cricket section is growing again and the athletics club is in affiliation. This represents a large number of members. The club has to be run as a business and considerable time and effort is devoted to this. One of the important tasks is to ensure that new blood is introduced into the administration of the club. The junior rugby section in particular involves parents with a range of skills and expertise that can be harnessed to meet the needs of the club. If everyone involved makes a small contribution this will reduce the overload on the few. If you feel you can help in any way please volunteer.
Moving the club forward into the twenty first century not only requires considerable effort but also has changed such things as communication with the members. This web site is an important element in communication. The website is a living item and is dependant upon contributions from the members. Make sure you play your part.
The club has many strengths and it is essential to capitalise on them all. The club is all about people whether they are players, parents, committee people or supporters. This is a prime strength of the club. Dursley Rugby Club is a great Club of which we can all be proud. As Club President I feel particularly honoured to be part of this great community.
John Darlaston
